Southern Wool & Skin has evolved from a small regional pullery into a full line tannery that specializes in industrial type shearling. Our product line includes skins prepared for paint rollers, auto seat covers, footwear, trim stock and medical use. We offer a line of sheepskin rugs in natural white or shades as well as an assortment of dyed colors. For the equestrian market, we produce vegetable, or bark tanned skins for use in high quality saddlery. In addition to our standard range, we produce custom finishes, colors and effects in small and large quantities. We are committed to running an environmentally friendly tannery and have invested in state of the art control equipment. We recycle and reuse all of our main process chemicals. All wastewater is channeled through a very sophisticated on-site sewer pretreatment plant prior to being discharged. Recently upgraded processing machinery and vessels utilize the latest technology to reduce chemical usage, minimizing waste and helping to control costs. We recognize the importance of our workforce to the success of the company and we take particular pride in our health and safety program. With strong employee involvement, we enjoy an enviable safety record and have been recognized by OSHA for our achievements in the field of safety. Our research and development department in the tannery is constantly working on new product lines, with a view to keeping us at the forefront of our industry.
